Easter-3-days67 Tasmanian athletes representing EVOC and Australopers showcased strong performances in the Easter 3 Day championships, enduring three challenging days of racing in hot and dusty conditions in South Australia. While achieving impressive individual results daily, it's the consistency across the three days in the bush that ultimately determines the overall outcomes.

Orienteering Australia Awards

In other news, Orienteering Australia's SILVA Medal was won by Euan Best and Brodie Nankervis was awarded the 2023 Athlete of the Year by Orienteering Australia. Congratulations also to the 48 Australopers who won the Champion Club Trophy beating out clubs from all other States and Territories.

    7 Mile Beach - Southern Local #3

    Sunday 19th May

    This is the third Southern Local for 2024. There are four courses, Long, Medium, Short and Novice. This is the Southern Tasmanian “World Orienteering Week” event and accordingly beginners are particularly welcome.

    While pre-registration is common for regular orienteers we will have extra maps ready as well as additional helpers to allow for newcomers to just turn up on the day. Newcomers taking part in their first Orienteering event compete for free.

  • Stonehenge - OST 6 - Schools Forest Champs - Long

    Stonehenge - OST 6 - Schools Forest Champs - Long

    Sunday 26th May

    This event combines OST 6 and the Tasmanian Schools Forest Championships. The map area is comprised of gently undulating dolerite terrain with subtle contour detail. Longer course runners may find some steep hills. Generally, the terrain is very runnable with open forest. There are some areas of stony ground and numerous gorse thickets.

    Nine Courses are available of different lengths and navigational challenges.
