About Ticket to Play

Ticket to Play is a Tasmanian Government programme that provides two $100 vouchers (each financial year) towards the cost of sport and active recreation membership for children who fit the eligibility criteria.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible: a child must be living in Tasmania, be aged between 5 and 18 years old at the time or application and they must be listed on a Services Australia issued “Health Care Card” or “Pensioner Concession Card” ( either their own or their parent, guardian or carer’s), or they can be in Out of Home Care.

A single voucher can be used to pay for the ‘Junior member’ $10 membership but a better use for a voucher is the ‘Junior member + local entry’ $90 membership. The $90 membership option includes free entry to ‘local’ events anywhere in the state until the 31st December as well as giving access to reduced entry fees to OST and state Championship events.

Vouchers can be used at two different activity providers, or both at one activity provider. Currently, the maximum junior membership fee for Orienteering Tasmania is $90, so only one voucher is needed. You could use the other voucher for another eligible sport.

How To Obtain a Voucher.

To receive a voucher, you must apply online via the state government Ticket To Play website HERE https://tickettoplay.tas.gov.au/apply_for_a_voucher

When your voucher application has been approved, the government will email you the Ticket to Play vouchers. Each voucher has a 12-digit number (numbers and letters).

Once you have a voucher number you can follow the steps below to use it to pay for a junior membership with Orienteering Tasmania.

How To Use a ‘Ticket to Play’ Voucher With Orienteering Tasmania.

1. A voucher can only be used towards payment of your OT membership fee.
2. Before you renew or apply for membership with OT, apply for a voucher (follow the ‘How To Obtain a Voucher’ information shown above).
3. Wait until you have received your voucher, then proceed with the next steps.
4. Login to Eventor https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/
5. Go to My Pages, My Membership
6. Click on ‘Apply for membership’ (or ‘Renew’ if you were a Club member in the previous year)
7. Choose the type of club membership (e.g. Junior membership + local entry) and save.
8. Do not go to PayPal – you should close the current window without paying.
9. Log out of Eventor.
10. Email the child’s name, their birthday day and month in a 4 digit format (ddmm), a contact phone number and the voucher number that is to be used to pay for the Orienteering membership to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The OT Treasurer will arrange to use your voucher to pay for your membership within 3-4 days. You will receive an email notification when your membership has been finalised. If there is a problem with the voucher we will contact you by phone to sort out what to do next.
