Waverley Park - Southern Local #4

Waverley Park, a stalwart of the southern local events, is making another return to dazzle us all with many large rocks, random lumps in the ground and
bike tracks in places you wouldn’t have thought possible to put bike tracks. The days are beginning to get longer so whip out those trail runners (or any old shoes) for the fourth edition of the 2025 Southern Local Series.

This event will be hosting the first week of a Learn to Orienteer Series so there will be newcomers out on the course. This is not a championship event, so please be nice if you are asked for help.

The Tasmanian Long-Distance Championship is being held on the fantastic Bells Marsh map. Expect some granite boulders, a few hills, a bit of scrub and some great courses to challenge your orienteering skills! Eight courses are available, of different lengths and navigational difficulty.

This is the seventh local event in the 2025 orienteering local series for southern Tasmania.

The event uses the Tolosa map and is focused on the mountain bike park area and surrounding areas. Local event - Four courses are available – Long, Medium, Short, Novice.

Brought to you by the SHOC and Australopers this will be a great warm up the Tasmanian Long Distance Championships to be held the next day at Bells Marsh. The terrain is a navigationally tricky mix of tin mining and undulating spur gully with some granite detail.
