I write to advise I am stepping back from orienteering after 31/12/25, and plan to thereafter just enter the occasional event as a casual. This means I will cease all mapping, including O map updates leading into an event.

I appreciate the camaraderie from everyone over the years, and especially remember the support provided by all those who helped manage the Starts at four National Carnivals.

Hopefully, I will catch-up from time to time at an event down the track.

Editor's Note - Mark has been a major contributor to Tasmania's orienteering scene over the years. He managed the Start Team for numerous national competitions held in the Tasmania and was a long serving Treasurer on OT's Board as well as being an active WROC club member. In recent years he has put in a massive mapping effort completing many school and bush maps in and around Hobart. At last count he has produced in excess of 20 maps and contributed to updating many more. This huge effort has been appreciated and I am sure that everyone that knows Mark would wish him all the best for his "retirement".
