The OT Board needs your help! We have two administrative roles that we would like to fill as soon as possible. They could be filled by the same person, or by two different people. OA Participation Committee - Member
The OT Board needs to appoint a representative from Tasmania to join the Participation Committee (established by Orienteering Australia (OA)). OT has access to some funding from OA to support the work of the eventual appointee and more information on the funding can be sought from
The Committee is chaired by the OA Manager for Participation, Daniel Stott and meets 4 times a year. It has 11 structured duties as outlined in the OA Operations Guide, and they include such things as exchanging information on participation activities between OA and the OA Board and the state newsletter, accepting and forwarding feedback, sharing grant funding. Learn To Orienteer (L2O) project – Tasmanian Coordinator
The OT Board wishes to appoint a Tasmanian Coordinator for the state’s Learn To Orienteer (L2O) project through until 31st December 2025.
OT has up to $2,325 to support the work of the eventual appointee.
If you wish to be considered for the position of coordinating the Tasmanian Learn To Orienteer (L2O) project, please send an email to the OT secretary
- Transfer L2O documents to the state drive for sharing;
- Create an L2O webpage on the state website;
- Prepare a list of planned L2O programmes;
- Share launch docs and info re L2O;
- Advertise and support new coaches through the accreditation process (in conjunction with the state’s coaching coordinator);
- Website and resource administration;
- Scheduling programmes;
- Support the risk management process;
- Programme support (check-in every 1-2 sessions);
- Data reporting;
- Report to the OT Board (of progress); and
- Report to OA (feedback for mods, challenges, successes).
The delivery of the L2O programme to participants is undertaken by accredited coaches, and there is separate funding available to pay for the coaches and equipment for each programme. It is hoped that in Tasmania four programmes can be delivered before the end of 2025.
The L2O project is funded via grants from Orienteering Australia and the project is part of OA’s nationwide participation plan that is managed by Daniel Stott, the OA Manager for Participation.
