See you next year!
That's it for the year folks! The weekly newsletter will become intermittent for the next month or so. Thanks for coming orienteering this year - we hope you enjoyed it and we look forward to seeing you next year. Check out our full event calendar for next year. The orienteering year kicks off in Launceston on the weekend of Jan 23-24 with the EVOC Summer Cup, followed shortly after by the Australopers Summer Fiesta in Hobart on the first weekend in February.
Summer coaches wanted - is this you?
Expressions of interest are sought for two paid positions of Local Summer Coach – one in the north of the State and one in the south - commencing in January 2021.
The end date is negotiable but ideally the coach would continue to provide coaching over the summer months, up to Easter 2021. A shorter period would also be considered.
The coach(es) would assist the State Coaching Coordinator to plan and conduct regular training sessions in in either the north or the south of the State, depending on where he/she is located. They would also be expected to attend a summer Junior training camp on January 20-22.

Southern Twilight Wraps Up
The Southern Spring Twilight Series has now finished. School results are calculated by adding the scores of the best three students from each school. Congratulations to Taroona High for once again winning the Boys and Girls Secondary trophies. The big news is that, after 7 wins in succession, South Hobart Primary School has been knocked off its perch by Taroona Primary School. See here for detailed results.
Here's some stats: median attendance per event was 162 and 275 people participated in at least one event.
Special thanks to the army of 70 volunteers who planned courses, collected maps, towed the trailer and toilet, helped at the desk and in the trailer, set up and packed up each event, collected controls, processed and published the results. We couldn’t have run the series without you.
New OST Structure for 2021
If you are planning an OST event next year, don't forget the course structure has changed a bit. The Organisers' Toolkit is being progressively updated to reflect the new structure. For more details see Event Types Guidelines

Your trials are over - all this and more will be revealed (bit by bit) in our new monthly Technical Talk email newsletter. The wise and experienced Lindsay Pender will be our inaugural editor. Stay tuned for more information in early 2021.
