If you are looking to get outdoors and dirty in 2021, why not head up the east coast to St Helens, and take part in AOC2021! It’s an orienteering carnival that you can join in.
Entries are now open. There are generous family discounts. And you can SAVE and enter by 31 May, to take advantage of the early bird discounts.
With swamps, rocks and pits, there are 11 events to choose from in some of Australia’s Best Terrain. There’s the chance to run on NEW areas & iconic maps featuring granite boulders, intricate erosion detail, and spur gully landscapes. There’s a bonus event around Bicheno’s stunning coastline and an event in the Fingal Valley as well.
Don’t be intimidated by the title “Championships”. You’ve been orienteering! Well, same, same for major events. There will be elites and age group competitors vying for championship titles but most people take part for the personal challenge on a course which suits them (including easier courses). Participate with others of all ages, genders and fitness levels, who like you, enjoy getting outdoors and dirty.
Enter as many events as you like. While entry is open to all, only eligible students can enter the Australian Schools Championships. For everyone else, there is the Turbo Chook 3 Days being held at the same time and venues.
To find out more, Take a squiz at the website. And to be in the best shape you can be (optional!), keep fit and active and go orienteering as much as you can in the lead up.
