Expressions of interest are sought for the positions of Assistant Manager and Assistant Coach for the Tasmanian Schools team competing in the Australian Schools Championships, which will be held as part of the Australian Championships carnival in St Helens from 25th September – 3rd October 2021.
The Assistant Manager helps the Manager with all the day-to-day tasks associated with the team’s participation in the carnival. At all times, the Assistant Team Manager works under the guidance of the Team Manager, who maintains full responsibility for the team. The Assistant Team Manager is expected to stay with the team for the duration of the carnival. Orienteering Tasmania provides a subsidy to help with accommodation expenses.
The Assistant Coach helps the Coach with all tasks relating to the team’s technical preparation for competition, including in the lead up to the event. The Assistant Coach is not expected to stay with the team for the duration of the carnival, and preference will be given to parents of team members who are already planning to travel to the carnival. Orienteering Tasmania might provide a small subsidy to assist with personal expenses, depending on whether or not the assistant coach is able to participate in mid-week events.
Both the Assistant Coach and the Assistant Manager must have a current Working With Vulnerable People card (volunteer category). OT can assist with obtaining one if necessary.
