Vale Sue Mount

Sue MountOrienteers will be saddened to learn that much loved long-time orienteer Sue Mount passed away peacefully at her home in Taroona on 3 July.

Sue's funeral will be held at Millingtons, 25 McIntyre Street, Mornington at 11:00am on Saturday July 13.

With her husband Tony, Sue has been a stalwart of orienteering in Tasmania for over 40 years. Sue was an accomplished orienteer, with a very long list of Australian and Oceania Championship titles to her name, as well as winning the Easter 3-Day competition no less than 15 times. However, Sue will be most remembered for her welcoming nature, her encouragement of newcomers to the sport, and her wonderful sense of humour. Sue herself said none of the wins were as good as the friends she has made or the places she has seen through orienteering. We will miss you Sue. Our deepest condolences to Tony and family.
