Are you happy to help at the event registration desk? But experience palpitations and sweating when you go near the download computer? A special desensitization clinic will be held at 7:30 pm Monday 18 February at 7 Kelly St Battery Point.
Participants will be given the opportunity to share personal stories about their affliction. A desktop demonstration course will be set up using SI boxes, computers and printers. Each will firstly touch a keyboard under medical supervision. Then under controlled conditions be gradually exposed to the hardware and software typically used at orienteering events. Progressively more complicated exposures will be simulated and strategies provided to deal with each one and with confidence.
At the end of the desensitisation session participants should be competent and relaxed in using a download computer at any event without medication. Treatment notes and a checklist will be provided.
Places are limited because of the personalised nature of the treatment. If overbooked another clinic may be held at a later date. For an appointment and for further details email Martin Bicevskis or by phone 0418110046
