Brodie Nankervis in Latvia for the World Championships

Brodie and Zoe 450x346Follow the Action - From August 3 to 12 Latvia will be the centre of orienteering as host of the 35th World Championships (WOC).  More than 300 of the strongest athletes from 50 countries will be competing for 10 medal sets in 5 disciplines (Sprint, Sprint Relay, Middle, Relay & Long). 


Australia is fielding a team including former Launceston local Brodie Nankervis (pictured in his recent voluntary role as JWOC Coach with team member Zoe Dowling).  Brodie is racing the Sprint, Sprint Relay and Relay Championships at WOC.  Representing Great Britain, and a recent Tasmanian resident, Charlotte Watson is racing the Long.


At the same time Hobart's Martin and Elizabeth Bicevskis will be participating in masters age classes in the public carnival "Latvia O Week" associated with WOC.  The atmosphere will be terrific.
