Thank you all who braved the southerly gale to take part in the Taroona Christmas Event - WROC's swan song. Thank you also to the people from WROC who have contributed so much to our sport over many years. Next year, there'll be just one club in Hobart - Australopers - who of course warmly welcome all. Information on taking out / renewing 2019 memberships will be out soon.
Join Launceston Training: Wednesdays After School/Work
All Full (Cub) Members are welcome (beginners - experienced) to join these skills sessions to learn to orienteer better. Train at your own pace. Come along as an individual or with friends. Children welcome if accompanied by an adult. Opt in on a weekly basis (no need to commit to attend every session).

Controller & Course Planning Courses in Launceston 3 & 4 December
Improve your Skills and Learn how to Set Courses and Organise Events
OT Technical Director Greg Hawthorne will be conducting these courses which run for three hours, and will be held at the Nankervis residence, 7 Monte Carlo Court, Prospect, starting at 7 pm.
Attend either or both courses. The Controller training will satisfy the mandatory requirement for level 1 & 2 accreditation/re-accreditation points for those wishing to be an event controller (note that other points achieved through practical course planning and controlling are required for accreditation and re-accreditation).
Bangor Rogaine 1 & 2 December – Entries close Tonight
Entries close Tuesday 27 November. Grab a friend and take up the challenge. Rogaining Tasmania are running a 24-hr State Championship event - with Roving 15-hr and 6-hr options available for the less competitive.
This event is being held on the Forestier Peninsula, in a mix of farmland and forest, where scenic coastal vistas and wombats abound. There are a lot of controls close to the campsite. EVOC are organising the Summer Cup this January with the help of their newly arrived Russian Coaches in Residence. The format has been designed to offer challenging courses but with lots of time to explore or simply relax. You do not have to enter every event to take part. To enter any event, simply turn up on the day.
Cumulative results for the series (see links below) can be found on the info pages for these events, in the same section where you find the "information flyer". The final results for each class will use your best 5 scores from the 6 events, so there is a real chance of improving your final placings by turning up this week.
