KB3 Days - Launceston - 6-8th June

HEAR YE, HEAR YE! - Hurry Hurry - Entries close this Thursday! - Check out Eventor.

Come one, come all to the King’s Birthday III Days – the Quest for the King’s Crown.

By Royal Decree of Esk Valley Orienteering Club, let it be known throughout the realm that a grand tournament shall take place!

Make haste to the City of Launceston on the 6th-8th of June, where a challenge to arms of much grandeur awaits. Witness feats of strength, enjoy the company of noble friends and a feast and tourney worthy of a king.

The festivities run from 12:30 on Saturday with the eminent Queechy Quest and conclude on Monday with his Lordship’s Crowning Glory Spectacular. Betwixt these illustrious outings we will journey to Hagley whilst the moon rises high for the King’s Knight, partake of the Round Table at Inveresk (OST #6) and contend a Spirited Score of worthy note. Tarry after the score with feasting morsels for company worthy of royalty whilst bairns may frolic on the village green.

Hark further dear traveller, there is hoped to be a royal abatement on this tourney should ye enter all the local events. The OST is a grander affair which requires one to commit greater coin to partake and must be entered separately.

Come prepared for a weekend of unparalleled revelry, bountiful food, and joyous merriment.

Bring thy spirit!

The Hobart Winter MapRun Series is a new, 4‑event series running this June — with courses open all week, so you can participate whenever it suits. Or join the optional 5pm group starts to enjoy a more social experience (and try some night orienteering with others).

This series introduces a scatter format, so you choose which controls to visit and the order you take them — creating your own adventure each time. Events use the free MapRun app, so all you need is your phone or GPS watch with the app installed. Printed maps are also available if you prefer a more traditional feel.

Run or walk, go solo or with family and friends — do one event or all four. Check your results online and compare with others at the end of each week.

Entry is just $5 per device per event, with all proceeds supporting local athletes Liana and Ella to represent Australia at JWOC in Sweden.
