OST 3 - Liemunetta - March 22

For more information and pre-entry, please see Eventor

This is the third OST for 2026. Eight courses are available, of different lengths and navigational difficulty. The forest at Lieemunetta is open, dry and delightful to run in. Some of the terrain is steep, so we’ve taken some climb out by having the start high and the finish somewhat lower.

Please enter online by midnight on Wednesday March 18th.

Southern Autumn Twilight #6 - Southern School Champs - March 25

More information and pre-entry in Eventor

This is event 6 of the Autumn Twilight Series and also the Southern Schools Championships. The assembly area is at the end of the lower carpark at Hobart College. Follow signs from the entrance to Hobart College. Start is adjacent to the carpark.

You can start anytime between 4:00 pm and 6:00. Please note this later start time (4:00 pm rather than 3:30 pm). This follows a request from the College as classes go until 4:00 that day.

Northern Autumn Twilight #6 - Northern Schools Championships - Aquatic Point and Stephensdale - March 26

Lots of extra information and pre-entry is available in Eventor

The Esk Valley Orienteering Club runs an annual Northern Schools Orienteering Championship, open to all school aged students in the North and North-West of the state.

This event, along with a state-wide Schools Championship and nominated state selection events, also provides a pathway for young orienteering athletes towards possible selection in the Tasmanian Schools orienteering team.

Entry is open to any student at primary or secondary college and students are encouraged to enter through their schools. All these events are under the direction, guidelines and rules of Orienteering Tasmania Inc.

This event will be run in conjunction with our regular twilight event with school entrants being prioritised for starts over other competitors.

Additionally, courses 4 and 5 will be open as part of the LSSSA competition on Friday 27/3/26.

Tasmanian Schools Team – Selection 2026

Interested in representing Tasmania at the Australian Schools Orienteering Championships?

Selection for the 2026 Tasmanian Schools Team will be based on performances across several key events this autumn.

The main selection races include the Tasmanian Sprint Championships (11 April, Sorell School), the Schools Forest Championships (17 May, Currawong Lakes) and the OST event at Lovely Banks on 31 May. Selectors may also consider results from other championship events held in April.

Orienteering Tasmania AGM Now Online 7pm 22 March

The Orienteering Tasmania AGM scheduled for Sunday 22/3 will now be held online at 7pm (previously scheduled for directly after OST 3). This late change is due to i) last minute availability changes and ii) additional Easter AOC preparations that will be taking place after the event.
