Pittwater - OST 10 Long - Sunday 20 July

It’s time to head back to the Pittwater dunes for this year’s tenth Orienteering Tasmania Series (OST), a long distance event. Mike Dowling has spent many days and upwards of 100 hours updating the map he originally produced ‘back in the nineties ‘with Mike Morffew.

Eight courses are available, all with minimal climb, but with a range of difficulties and lengths. Choose your challenge and get amongst the pines and banksias in the dunes down by the beach.

Four training exercises in Hobart

In person training is paused for the next couple of weeks during the school holidays. However there are four taped training exercises in Hobart at Knocklofty and Waterworks. There are two corridors, an orienteering golf exercise (map memory and simplification) and a control picking exercise.

Maps and exercise descriptions are here

Any questions, ask me at klaas.hartmann@gmail.com.

Also, if you do do one of the exercises, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know so I can get a sense of how popular these are and if it is worth setting more in future. Tapes are planned to be removed around July 21, unless someone requests to keep them in place for longer. There will be an announcement in the newsletter when in person training resumes.
