| Our annual Christmas Event is a free event open to both members and non-members, but please enter through Eventor so we have an idea of numbers. This is predominantly a social event. So bring along chairs, BBQ supplies or cold chicken and salad and of course a bottle or two of bubbly to celebrate the end of another Orienteering year. Perennial volunteer Bert Elson will place controls, but not necessarily where they are shown on the map. There will also be a Stupid Elf maze and a presentation of awards to place-getters in the Southern Local Series. Please come appropriately dressed in a Santa hat or decked out as an elf or reindeer. The assembly area is adjacent to the very top carpark on the Queens Domain in Hobart.

Learn to Orienteer Program This new initiative is a program run over four Sunday mornings on February 2, 9, 16 and 23 next year. It is designed to enable people to gain the skills and confidence to move from Twilight events to our more difficult weekend club events. You will become proficient with a compass (we will lend you one), at interpreting contour lines and will learn various orienteering strategies to help you get around a course more efficiently. |
| |
---|
Numbers will be limited, children must be accompanied by a parent who will also participate in the course. The charge for the 4-week course is adults $40, children $20 and families $80. If you register your interest by return email, I will send you more details. |
