This is the annual Southern Christmas Event. It is a free event open to both members and non-members but entries via Eventor are requested so we have an idea of numbers.
This is predominantly a social event. So bring along chairs, BBQ supplies or cold chicken and salad and of course a bottle or two of bubbly to celebrate the end of another Orienteering year.
Now Santa has set long, medium and short courses but … he is leaving the putting out of controls to his rather untrustworthy elf, Red Nose Randolf, who has been known to put out controls after polishing off a few bottles of red. SO … You are likely to go to the circle on the map just to find nothing! Hunt around and you should find your numbered control perhaps 10 m away, maybe 30 m away or even 50 m away – depending how hopeless Randolph was in putting out the controls. Other fun activities will include a maze course and anything else we come up with on the day.
Please come appropriately dressed in a Santa hat or decked out as an elf or reindeer!!
The assembly area is adjacent to the very top carpark on the Queens Domain in Hobart.
