This is the 10th Sunday Southern Local event and will be held at Geilston Gully. Four courses are available – Long, Medium, Short, and Novice. Shorter courses stick to the lower elevations in the gully, the medium require some climbing of the slopes and the long requires a bit climb to the top of the range. 

Geilston Gully is at Faggs Gully Creek at the end of Geilston Creek Road. The assembly area is in the park near the intersection of Clinton Road and Geilston Creek Road. Parking is along Geilston Creek Road off Clinton Road. There is more parking across the East Derwent Highway at Geilston Bay Park. There is a 1km walk up the creek walkway and road to the start.

  • Knocklofty - Southern Spring Twilight Series #5 - Wednesday 20 November

    This is the fifth event in the Southern Spring Twilight / Schools Orienteering Series. There are 4 courses ranging from a short and easy Primary course to a Long course. Some courses are suitable for first timers and there will be volunteers on hand to assist newcomers. Courses crisscross the scenic Knocklofty reserve with a mixture of track and bush running.

    The Assembly Area and start is near the car park at the top end of Forest Road.

    Queens Domain - Southern Christmas Break-up - Sun 8 December

    This is the annual Southern Christmas Event. It is a free event open to both members and non-members but entries via Eventor are requested so we have an idea of numbers. 

    This is predominantly a social event. So bring along chairs, BBQ supplies or cold chicken and salad and of course a bottle or two of bubbly to celebrate the end of another Orienteering year. 

    Now Santa has set long, medium and short courses but … he is leaving the putting out of controls to his rather untrustworthy elf, Red Nose Randolf, who has been known to put out controls
