Haven't decided what to do on Australia Day?  Then come orienteering at Bicheno!

The Bicheno community is arranging a fund raising day for the fire appeal on Australia Day.  As the community was so supportive of our event there in September, OT is supporting our participation there on the day.  We will have a string, short (easy) and medium (moderate) course on offer, plus a longer (~4 km) difficult course.  The Medium and Long courses will be partly based around control sites used for the Aust Champs Sprint.

There will be no entry fees, but donations to the fire appeal are invited.

Orienteering will be on offer between 11.00 am & 3.00 pm.  SI will be used.  We would like to know in advance if you want to run the longer course ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) and of course would appreciate any helpers on the day – especially with assisting newcomers.

Think about a night or two in Bicheno.  The Bicheno fire skirted to the south of the town, devastating the Half Moon Bay community with the loss of 15 properties).  But would-be tourists are cancelling their forward bookings making it tough for the accommodation businesses.
